Choose the cup around the contents

Start with what will be served, its temperature and how long customers will hold it. Final capacity, rim size, lid, material and print route are confirmed against the chosen specification.

Before choosing

Five questions that shape the cup system

The cup, lid and any sleeve should be specified and tested as one working system.

  1. 01

    What will the cup contain?

Hot coffee, iced drinks, smoothies and frozen desserts place different demands on the cup and its components.

  2. 02

    What capacity is actually required?

Confirm usable volume, not only the familiar ounce label, and account for ice, foam, toppings and fill line.

  3. 03

How will customers hold and drink from it?

Temperature, hold time, grip, sleeve need and lid opening all affect the experience.

  4. 04

Which lid fits the exact rim?

Match lid material, diameter and profile to the precise cup rather than assuming nominal sizes are interchangeable.

  5. 05

How should artwork wrap the shape?

Taper, seam, rim and base restrictions influence the safe area and how graphics align around the cup.

From brief to production

How a custom cup project takes shape

01

Define the serve

Share the drink or dessert, temperature, portion, lid needs, quantities and service journey.

02

Select the system

We match an appropriate cup construction, capacity and compatible supporting components.

03

Prepare and visualise

Artwork is applied to the correct template and supplied as a 3D visual proof before approval.

04

Produce and reorder

The approved specification is retained to support future runs, subject to current commercial confirmation.

Artwork and print

Design for a tapered, three-dimensional surface

Cup artwork must account for the template, seam, curve and viewing angle. We can work from print-ready files or develop an early direction into production-ready artwork.

  • Artwork checked against the correct size-specific template
  • Colour and print expectations agreed for the chosen route
  • A 3D visual proof showing the artwork around the finished form
  • Your approval secured before production begins

Cup FAQs

What buyers usually need to confirm

What is the minimum order?

The minimum depends on cup size, construction, print route and number of artwork versions. We confirm the MOQ against the selected specification.

Which cup should I choose for hot drinks?

The answer depends on fill temperature, hold time and hand-comfort requirements. We assess the drink and service journey before confirming single wall, double wall or any sleeve requirement.

Are lids included?

Lids are treated as part of the cup system but availability, material, pack ratio and pricing are confirmed separately against the exact rim specification.

Can Niche help with cup artwork?

Yes. Supply print-ready artwork or share your logo and direction. We will confirm the design work required and provide a 3D visual proof for review.

Can I request samples?

Tell us which contents, temperatures and components you need to test. We will confirm the appropriate available sample route and what that sample can validate.

How long does production take?

Timing depends on the cup and print route and starts after the specification, commercial terms and artwork approval are complete.
